Name: Elizabeth Stamatina “Tina” Fey
Born: 18 May 1970
Occupation: American actress, Comedienne, Producer, Screenwriter
Tina Fey was born to Zenobia who worked in finance, and Donald, a grant writer. She grew up in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania where she also attended school. Her parents exposed her to comedy from a young age and by the time she was in middle school she was considering it as a profession. She later went on to study acting and playwriting at the University of Virginia where she graduated in 1992.
Her professional career really began when she started performing at The Second City, a comedy/improvisational club. A fellow performer moved to Saturday Night Live and asked her to send in some sketch material for the television show. They liked what she sent and she joined the crew as a writer and was also put in front of the camera. When the position of head writer opened up, Tina slid into the new position. After nine years with SNL she went on to star on 30 Rock. In addition to working on 30 Rock, Tina wrote and starred in the movie Mean Girls featuring among others Lindsay Lohan. She next starred in the movie Baby Mama alongside Amy Poehler, then Date Night with Steve Carell and Mila Kunis, both of which were commercial successes. She has also done voices for cartoon movies such as Megamind.
Although she has many credits to her name, Tina is most remembered for her portrayal of Sarah Palin on SNL. Tina has won many awards throughout the years including Emmys, Golden Globes, SAG awards, and awards from the Writers Guild of America. With her various occupations and her popularity, we estimate Tina Fey’s net worth to be about $45,000,000 (GBP 28,700,000).
So how much is $45 million dollars really?
Since we know Tina is a huge fan of comedy and grew up watching The Honeymooners, we think she might like to revisit her early love of comedy and buy the complete series and the Christmas Special of The Honeymooners all on DVD for only $100. She could even give them out as gifts to children to get them interested in following in her own footsteps. With $45 million dollars she could donate 450,000. That could be a lot of aspiring comics.
