Name: Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson
Born: 13 May 1986
Occupation: Actor, Musician, Model
Robert Pattinson was born in London, England, the third child of Richard and Clare Pattinson. His father worked as a car salesman selling imported vintage cars and his mother worked for a modeling agency. Robert grew up playing the piano and guitar and has always stayed close to his love of music. He began working as a model when he was 12 but got out of the business when he was 16 and gradually turned to acting. He was with the Barnes Theatre Company when he was noticed by an acting agent.
Robert got small parts in some television films, but his first big role was playing Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. Although these movies are wildly successful, he is most known as Edward Cullen in the Twilight series which has turned him into a household name. He has been romantically linked to co-star Kristen Stewart since they met on the set of Twilight. For the first Twilight movie he made a mere $2 million. The incredible success of the first film lead to much higher pay for all of the actors, with Robert bringing in $12 million for both New Moon and Eclipse. For the final two installments he made $25 million and a guarantee of a percentage of the gross. This percentage could end up being millions more. Robert’s love of music lead to being credited with two songs on the first film’s soundtrack.
During this time he also starred in Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon. Looking to break away from being stereotyped as Edward Cullen, he worked for much less, making only $1.5 million. We estimate his current net worth to be $62 million dollars (GBP $38 million).
So how much is $62 million dollars really?
With Robert’s love of music he could buy 103,000 Fender guitars or 1,000 grand pianos. If he wanted to start back up with friends in a band, he could outfit 885 bands with all of their equipment. Travel around with his band would require a tour bus, and with his money, Robert could buy 413 of them.
While all of this may sound like a lot of money, don’t let it make you jealous. To put it into perspective, Robert could sell everything he owns and still only afford nine private jets.
