Name: Lindsay Lohan
Born: 2 July 1986
Occupation: Actress, singer, model.
Born in New York City, Lindsay Lohan grew up on Long Island. She was already a veteran performer by age 10, having modelled for Calvin Klein Kids and Abercrombie Kids and appeared in more than 100 different TV commercials, including one for Jell-O with Bill Cosby. At the age of ten her career took off further when she was given the part of Alli Fowler on the television soap opera Another World. She left the role a year later to star in Disney’s remake of its 1961 classic hit film, The Parent Trap, which earned $92 million worldwide and brought her to the media’s attention and won her a Young Artist Award.
Her next big film came in 2003, starring alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday, another Disney remake that originally starred Jodie Lee Foster in Lohan’s role. The film was her most successful to date, earning $160 million worldwide. In 2004 she starred with Megan Fox in a teen musical comedy film “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”. The same year she was the youngest to host the MTV Movie Awards, where she also received the Breakthrough Performance award for Freaky Friday. That was also the year that she released her debut album, Speak, that went platinum and peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200. Lohan co-wrote half the songs on the album.
Side ventures for Lindsay Lohan have mostly included heavy partying, alcohol and drug addictions, various DUI violations, short stints in jail and lots of time at rehabilitation centers. In February 2011 she was charged with the theft of a $2,500 necklace from an L.A. jewelry store. She was sentenced to 120 days of jail time and 480 hours of community service. In the end, due to “overcrowding” (a term used to explain why all of her different jail sentences have never been served out in full), she was on house arrest for just 35 days, wearing an ankle monitor. She did finally complete her community service requirement and will remain on informal probation until May 2014.
Despite a successful career, much of her wealth is diverted to her various bad habits and legal entanglements, so we place Lindsay Lohan’s net worth at only $1.4 million.
So how much is 1.4 million dollars really?
It is always puzzling when someone who is already rich and famous steals something. Why would Lohan steal a $2,500 necklace when she could afford to buy 560 of them?
She could also afford about 500 kilos of weed. That’s enough to get stoned, as we believe the expression is, 1 million times. Or once a day for about 3,000 years.
