Occupation: Actor, author and humorist
Jesse Eisenberg was born on October 5, 1983 in Queens, New York. He is the son of Barry Eisenberg, a taxicab and entrepreneur, and Amy Fishman, a clown and cultural sensitivity instructor. Jesse has two siblings: Hallie and Kerrie. He was raised in a secular Jewish household.
Jesse attended the East Brunswick Public School, the Hammarskjold Middle School and the Churchill Junior High School. He would later attend the High School of Performing Arts. Jesse then attended The New School in Greenwich Village, where he studied anthropology and liberal arts.
He has been romantically involved with Anna Strout and Mia Wasikowska.
In order to combat anxiety and sensitivity, Jesse decided to enter acting at a very young age. At just the age of seven, Jesse starred as Oliver Twist in a children’s theater production of the musical “Oliver!”. Five years later, he became an understudy of the 1996 Broadway revival of legend Tennessee Williams’s “Summer and Smoke.” At 13, he was the understudy of the role of Young Scrooge in the musical adaptation of “A Christmas Carol.”
Jesse also penned his own screenplays at just 16. Some of his scripts have been optioned by major studios. Unfortunately for Jesse, he entered into legal issues with Woody Allen’s attorneys because he authored a play about how Woody Allen changed his name, which garnered Jesse two cease and desist letters.
Jesse started his career in film and television in 1999 when he appeared in “Get Real,” “Roger Dodger” and “The Emperor’s Club.” After several stints in independent motion pictures, Jesse would get his biggest break by starring in “Zombieland,” “The Social Network” and “Rio.” In the last year, Jesse has starred in two major films: “Batman v. Superman” and Woody Allen’s “Café Society.”
He has been very outspoken about how he suffers with obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), separation anxiety, depression and social anxiety on a daily basis.
Outside the world of Hollywood, Jesse has been very involved in animal rights, fostering animals and vegetarianism/veganism. He has also been a big part of non-profit theater groups and civic engagement organizations.
We estimate that Jesse’s net worth is $10 million (2016).
So how much is $10 million really?
$10 million can help you build your very own batcave. $10 million could also help you finance most of Woody Allen’s productions, which usually cost very little to make.
