Name: Ryan Steven Lochte
Born: August 3, 1984
Ryan Lochte was born in Rochester, New York on August 3, 1984. He is the son of Steven R. Lochte, a swimming coach, and Ileana Ike Aramburu, a Cuban mother. He has four siblings: Kristin, Megan, Devon and Brandon.
Raised in Canandaigua, New York, his family would relocate to Florida. Ryan would attend the University of Florida and graduate in 2007 with a degree in sports management.
Ryan has been romantically connected to K. Michelle, Olivia Culpo, Carmen Electra and Kayla Rae Reid. He presently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ryan’s interest in swimming happened when he was just five years old. Although he regularly misbehaved in the swimming pool growing up, he never lost his interest in the sport. His father confirmed that Ryan never took swimming seriously until he was 14 years old. When he competed at the Junior Olympics, he said that he was tired of losing and that he would train harder moving forward.
During his school days, Ryan would swim for coach Gregg Troy as a member of the Florida Gators swimming and diving team. Ryan would compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). He would become the NCAA Swimmer of the Year, a seven-time NCAA Champion, a seven-time SEC champion and a 24-time All-American. He also set records and won national titles.
Ryan would make his name during the 2004 Summer Olympics when he swam right behind Michael Phelps and helped defeat the Australians. It wasn’t until the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing that Ryan would gain international fame by winning two gold medals and two bronze medals. He was also admired for his looks all around the world. In 2012, Ryan continued his success by winning two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medals.
In the 2016 Summer Olympics, Ryan would only earn one gold medal. Nonetheless, Ryan would still become the second most celebrated male swimming athlete in U.S. history, next to Michael Phelps. Outside of the Olympics, Ryan would regularly compete in various world competitions.
Ryan would gain international notoriety by making up a false robbery story in Rio De Janeiro. He claimed that he and his teammates were robbed at gunpoint in their taxi cabs. It was later turned out to be untrue and Ryan would concede that he was inebriated and over exaggerated what really happened. It later turned out that Ryan and his teammates damaged a bathroom at a gas station.
Due to this bad publicity, Ryan would lose several sponsorship deals, including from Speedo, Ralph Lauren, Airweave and Syneron Candela.
In April 2012, Ryan would receive his own reality television series called “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” It was cancelled after one season. He would also make appearances on “30 Rock” and “90210.” Ryan has appeared in Vogue, Time, Men’s Health and Men’s Journal. He has endorsed an array of products from brands such as Gillette, Procter and Gamble, Ralph Lauren, Nissan and AT&T. Most of his earnings have come from endorsement deals.
It was confirmed that Ryan will be competing on the 23rd season of “Dancing with the Stars.” His partner will be Cheryl Burke.
We estimate that Ryan Lochte’s net worth is $3 million (2015).
So how much is $3 million really?
$3 million can buy you a couple of Olympic sized swimming pools. $3 million could also buy you a dozen or so gas stations with brand new bathrooms.
