Dan Abrams was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York on May 20, 1966. Raised in a Jewish household, Dan is the son of Floyd Abrams, an American attorney at Cahill Gordon & Reindel. He has one sibling: Ronnie.
Dan attended Columbia University and graduated from law school.
He is in a relationship with Florinka Pesenti, a winning contestant on “The Amazing Race 3.” They have one child together: Everett Floyd Abrams.
In the 1990s, Dan was a reporter for Court TV. He covered some of the biggest cases in the world, including the OJ Simpson trial, the International War Crimes Tribunal and the assisted-suicide trials of Dr. Jack Kevorkian.
After this impressive coverage, Dan was hired by NBC News and served as a general assignment correspondent. In 1999, he was promoted to Chief Legal Correspondent and, two years later, was given his own MSNBC show called “The Abrams Report.” He eventually entered into a managerial role, but still had his own shows, like “Live with Dan Abrams” and “Verdict with Dan Abrams.” He even had a stint at as an anchor on NBC’s “The Today Show.”
In 2011, Dan left NBC to work for ABC as a Chief Legal Analyst and Chief Legal Affairs Anchor.
By 2009, Dan transformed into an Internet entrepreneur by starting up several websites as part of Abrams Media. Some of his web properties consist of Mediaite, SportsGrid, Geekosystem, Gossip Cop, Styleite, The Mary Sue, LawNewz and The Braiser.
At the same time, Dan regularly publishes articles in USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Huffington Post and Daily Beast. He has published one book entitled “Man Down: Proof Beyond a Reasonable Doubt That Women Are Better Cops, Drivers, Gamblers, Spies, World Leaders, Beer Tasters, Hedge Fund Managers and Just About Everything Else.”
In fall 2016, Dan began to host an A&E show called “Live PD,” which provides live coverage of on-duty police officers. Some have compared it to the famous 1990s series “Cops.”
Outside of media, Dan co-owns a restaurant in TriBeca called White Street.
