Occupation: Actor, professional wrestler and television personality
The Miz was born on October 8, 1980 in Parma, Ohio. His step-father is Donnie and he has two half-siblings: Tonia and Jimmy.
He attended Normandy High School, where he was active in basketball, cross country, swimming and student government. After his high school graduation, The Miz attended Miami University and then studied business at the Richard T. Farmer School of Business. He would drop out of university.
Prior to his marriage to Maryse Ouellet, The Miz was involved with former WWE Diva Layla El, Trishelle Cannatella, Christena Pyle and Kendall Sheppard. In February 2014, The Miz married his longtime girlfriend, Maryse, in the Bahamas.
Before entering the world of professional wrestling, The Miz pursued an entertainment career. In 2001, The Miz appeared on the 10th season of the hit MTV reality television series “The Real World.” This appearance allowed Miz to star in various spin-off series. He went on to appear in an array of television programs, including “Fear Factor,” “Battle of the Network Reality Stars,” “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” and “Ghost Hunters.”
In 2002, The Miz began his pro-wrestling career as he joined Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW), where he trained in the Ultimate University. He would make his in-ring debut in 2003.
Following a successful stint in UPW, The Miz tried out for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s Tough Enough competition in 2004. Although he did make it to the final round and lost, The Miz was still signed to a developmental deal and was sent to Deep South Wrestling (DSW), the company’s developmental system. He was later transferred to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).
WWE announced in March 2006 that The Miz would make his debut on SmackDown! Three months later, he made his debut as the television show’s host, which included announcing the planned card and promoting the show to get the crowd excited. He was then assigned to be the host of the annual Diva Search competition. When it came to an end, The Miz finally made his in-ring debut on SmackDown! and defeated Tatanka.
The Miz would find his greatest success to date as he partnered with John Morrison in 2007 and win the WWE Tag Team Championship. After two years, the duo separated and The Miz would find instant success winning the United States Championship, the InterContinental Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship (with The Big Show) and feuding with John Cena. He would also go on to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, which then allowed him to cash in the briefcase on Randy Orton to become the WWE Champion. The Miz main evented WrestleMania XXVII against Cena and retained the title.
After losing the WWE Championship, The Miz floundered around the card and didn’t go anywhere. It wasn’t until Damien Sandow became his stunt double that The Miz’s career was suddenly rejuvenated. Once the duo broke up, The Miz would win the Intercontinental Championship with Maryse at his side.
Outside of wrestling, The Miz has been a multimedia star. He made his motion picture debut in 2012 by starring in “The Campaign.” Since then, The Miz has starred in “The Marine 3,” “Christmas Bounty,” “The Marine 4,” “Santa’s Little Helper” and “The Marine 5.”
The Miz is a longtime fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Indians.
We estimate that The Miz’s net worth is $5 million (2016).
So how much is $5 million really?
$5 million can help pay for a lavish wedding on the beach. $5 million can also pay for front-row tickets to every Raw, SmackDown, NXT and pay-per-view for a handful of years.
