Name: Willard Mitt Romney
Born: March 12th, 1947
Occupation: Politician; 2012 Republican Nominee
Mitt has always been a pretty well known name, especially once he founded Bain Capital, a major investment firm. Aside from investment banking, Mitt also had political aspirations and took a shot at an empty seat in the Massachusetts Senate back in 1994. This bid was a losing one as he was beaten out by Edward Kennedy. This, however, did not stop ole’ Mitt from prospering. He returned to his home in Utah and presided over the organizing committee for the 2002 Olympic Games that were to be held in Salt Lake City. This helped to keep the name Mitt in the spotlight even outside of politics. In 2003 his tenacity paid off and he was elected to be the Massachusetts governor in 2003. In 2008 he tried for a presidential nomination and lost to John McCain. This year however, he won out in the end and will be in a race of the United States presidency in this year’s election again sitting president Barack Obama.
Mitt, has earned the majority of his money though capital gains. He is after all in the banking business. However, there is also some speculation that some of his massive wealth was inherited from his parents who were also pretty comfortable financially speaking. While there is not any information that gives us a direct number on what Mitt is worth these days, but the estimate is a net worth between $190 million to $250 million.
So how much is $190 million really?
Biking is a great way to get in shape. If Mitt wanted to, he could buy enough bikes to have one to ride for every hour for the rest of his life. With $190 million, he could get 190,000 top notch ten speed bikes.
Maybe fitness is not Mitt’s thing, though. In that case, maybe he would prefer pick up 31,666,666 cans of Diet Pepsi? Or possibly regular Pepsi…not sure which he prefers.
Sleep is my favourite activity, and with $190 million I could get 187,000 Sleep Number beds. Oh, the thought of all that amazing comfort!
