Name: Marion Anne Perrine Le Pen
Born: August 5, 1968
Occupation: Lawyer and politician
Marine Le Pen was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France on August 5, 1968. She is the daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, a legendary politician and former paratrooper, and Pierrette Lalanne. She has two siblings: Marie Caroline and Yann. Her parents divorced when she was 19 years old.
Marine studied law at Pantheon-Assas University. She graduated with a Master of Laws in 1991 and a Master of Advanced Studies in Criminal Law in 1992. After graduation, Marine registered at the Paris bar association and received her certificate as a lawyer, otherwise known as a CAPA.
In 1995, Marine married Frank Chauffroy, a business executive who also worked for the National Front, a political party. They had three children together: Jehanne, Louis and Mathilde. They divorced in 2000. Marine later married Eric Lorio, a former political advisor and secretary of the National Front. They divorced in 2006. Three years later, Marine entered into a relationship with Louis Allot, a former National Front General Secretary and vice president. Marine presently resides in La Celle-Saint-Cloud.
During her extensive legal career, Marine was also politically active, especially within the National Front, where she was a member since 18 years of age. Between 1986 and 2010, she rose within the ranks of the political party, from joining the executive committee to becoming the vice president. In 2011, Marine became the overwhelming leader of the National Front. The group has never been as popular as it is today.
Some of her political positions include implementing protectionist measures, supporting public utilities and civil servants, advocating a change to the international monetary system, opposing corporate tax cuts, favoring leaving the European Union and dumping the euro and wanting to pull out of NATO. Of course, Marine and her party are generally known for their stances on legal immigration, illegal immigration and the migrant crisis, which have been described as racist and Islamophobic by the mainstream media, both domestic and internationally.
In 2014, Marine was convicted of fraud for distributing flyers that were supposedly from a political opponent. Marine and her campaign pledged to fight the conviction.
We estimate that Marine Le Pen’s net worth is $275 million (2016).
So how much is $275 million really?
$275 million can help pay for various fees and taxes that get allocated to the European Union. $275 million can also cover the cost of campaigning against the European Union.
