Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1942, Joe Biden was the first of four children. In 1953 the Biden family moved to Claymont, Delaware where they stayed long enough for Joe to attend and graduate from Delaware University. Following his graduation, he went on to Syracuse Law School where he excelled in everything he did.

In 1966, Vice President Biden married his long term sweetheart, Neilla Hunter, and quickly started a family, however just 6 years later tragedy struck when Neilla, along with the couple’s one year old daughter, was killed in an automobile accident. The tragedy came just weeks after 29 year old Biden became one of the youngest people ever to be elected to the US Senate. Jill Jacobs became the second Mrs. Biden in 1977, and the couple raised 3 children over the years.

In his political career, Vice President Biden acted as Senator from Delaware for 36 years and is probably best known for his work on criminal justice issues, including the Violence Against Women Act and the 1994 Crime Bill. He also played an important role in the shaping of US Foreign Policy. Now, as the 47th Vice President of the United States Joe Biden has his work cut out for him, as he has already been tasked with instigating the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help rebuild the economy.

Again, quite ironically, Vice President Biden is thought to be one of the poorest members of President Obama’s team, with an estimated net worth of around $500,000 (313,000 GBP). Not much to show for a 40 year political career. At least not considering that the 2012 presidential campaign cost the two candidates nearly $1.6 billion.

So what could you buy with $500,000?

Well, you could get yourself a politician smile just like Vice President Joe Biden’s with 3355 teeth-whitening sessions, each lasting 20 minutes. Or you could try to emulate his immaculate look with a few new clothes, such as 300 hand-made suits from Armani or even Brooks Brothers. Saying this though, Joe is a man that advocates middle-class America so he would probably prefer you to buy 15,000 pairs of Chinos and 15,000 smart shirts from Walmart.
