Name: Edward Thomas “Tom” Hardy
Born: 15 September 1977
Occupation: English actor
Tom Hardy was the only child born to Anne, an artist and painter, and Edward, a writer. He grew up in East Sheen, a suburb of London. He studied drama at Richmond Drama School and also at the Drama Centre London. When he was 21 he won the Find Me a Supermodel competition and with it came a contract with Models One.
His first big acting break came from the miniseries Band of Brothers, playing Army Private John Janovec. He got his first film role in the movie Black Hawk Down as Spc. Lance Twombly. The movie was directed by Ridley Scott and covered the events during the Battle of Mogadishu. Film critics loved the movie and it made over $172,000,000. His next role was in Star Trek Nemesis. More movies followed, such as A for Andromeda, Marie Antionette, Sweeney Todd, Thick as Thieves and Bronson for which he won a British Independent Film Award for Best Actor. But it was with his next film that he began to get the attention of Hollywood. Inception (co-starred with Joseph Gordon-Levitt) got Tom nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award, which he won, along with winning a Scream Award for Best Breakthrough Actor.
More roles followed in hits such as This Means War and The Dark Knight Rises (starring with Morgan Freeman). Tom has also taken over the role as Mad Max from Mel Gibson and will continue the Mad Max movies with the first one slated for release in 2014. With numerous movies under his belt and his rising popularity, we predict we’ll be seeing much more of Tom in the future. We estimate Tom Hardy to have a net worth of $5,000,000 (GBP 3,100,000).
So how much is $5 million dollars really?
Since Tom has been so busy lately, we expect he could use a good rest. What better way than to buy a great mattress like the Simmons Beautyrest Classic Tomahawk Firm? With his money he could buy almost 9,200 of them. While that may seem like he’s got some crazy money to deal with, we think you shouldn’t feel too envious of his money. After all, even Tom couldn’t afford the world’s most expensive bed, the Baldacchino Supreme, which has a price tag of $6.4 million. He’s going to have to star in a few more movies for that.
