Name: Zooey Claire Deschanel
Born: 17 January 1980
Occupation: Actress, Musician, Singer, Songwriter
Zooey Deschanel was born to a family based in Hollywood, California. Her mother, Mary Jo Deschanel is an actress and her father Caleb is an award winning cinematographer. Her oldest sister Emily is currently starring in the television show Bones.
Zooey’s first job in acting was in the relatively short lasting television show Veronica’s Closet and her first movie role shortly after was Mumford. She has appeared in music videos, as well, and is also an accomplished musician who can play a variety of instruments. Along with fellow musician and actress Samantha Shelton, she formed the duo If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies, playing gigs around Los Angeles. Zooey also formed the duo She & Him with M. Ward in 2007 and recorded two albums and still continues to work with him.
After Mumford, Zooey began getting more and more movie roles. She appeared in movies such as Almost Famous, The Good Girl with Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal, Elf, Failure to Launch, Yes Man with Jim Carrey, Bridge to Terabithia, and (500) Days of Summer with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chloe Moretz, among many others. In 2011 she began the starring role in the television series New Girl for which she won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Actress.
From her supporting roles to her music to her newest starring role, she’s been keeping pretty busy. We estimate her worth to be $7,000,000 (GBP 4,459,000).
So how much is $7 million dollars really?
Zooey has loved music since she was a young girl. In addition to playing many instruments, she has a beautiful singing voice, as was seen in the movie Elf. We think with her appreciation of music, she might be interested in buying several Martin 2 Tenor Ukuleles, as she’s often seen playing the ukulele. With a price tag of just $1,149 she could afford to buy 6,092 of them.
She has also frequently been quoted as saying how she loves old things and is old fashioned. Since she likes old things, she could tour the factory of Kamaka Ukulele in Hawaii. They have been making ukeleles for over 100 years and would probably love to give her a tour. She could fly roundtrip from Hollywood to Hawaii 14,000 times. But with all her money spent on airfare, the nice people at Kamaka Ukulele would probably have to loan her a cot to sleep on.
