Name: Daniel Wroughton Craig
Born: March 2, 1968
Daniel Craig is an English actor. His passion for acting began at a very young age. He was part of the National Youth Theatre. He graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was involved with many stage productions as a child and in his youth. His mother was an art teacher and his dad ran a pub.
He grew up in Wirral Peninsula, very close to Liverpool. He credits his mother with introducing him to the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. When he was 16 he moved to London to join the National Youth Theatre. He studied for three years under Colin McCormack at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
The most significant role that Daniel Craig is known for is playing James Bond – a role he has had since 2006. While many were skeptical at first about how he would do, he has had amazing results in this role. In fact, Skyfall which premiered in 2012, has become the highest grossing James Bond film in history.
Daniel Craig, along with Queen Elizabeth II, was a guest at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games. He has a daughter with his first wife and he is currently married to Rachel Weisz.
Daniel Craig spends a lot of time with charity work – helping many great causes. He has donated money, assisted with fundraisers, and even been a spokesperson to help empower people. Some of the causes he has helped with include AIDS awareness, at-risk-youth, suicide prevention, human rights, poverty, and mental health awareness. The list of charities he works with is long but a few of them include Artists for Peace and Justice, Dorset Wildlife Trust, and Worldwide Orphans Foundation.
Today, Daniel Craig’s net worth is an estimated $45 million. With several films in the works for 2013 and 2014, don’t be surprised to see that figure rise significantly!
How much is $45 million really?
£4 million was paid by Daniel Craig in 2010 to convert an old house into a stylish location for his family to live in Primerose Hill. This is located near Regent Park in London. With the amount of money he has available, he could have bought nearly 12 such places around the world. Since he and his family love to travel, that may be something they consider down the road.
Don’t fall into the trap of considering Craig as one of the “super rich”, though. $45 million is pocket money for some people. After dropping $320 million on a new Airbus A380 jet, Prince Al-Waleed of Saudi Arabia, for example, spent a further $176 million on modifications, including a $60 million gold leaf paintjob.
