Name: Walter Bruce Willis
Born: 19 March 1955
Occupation: Actor, Producer, Musician
Bruce Willis was born the oldest of four children to Marlene, a German national, and David, a U.S. soldier. He grew up in New Jersey and was involved in drama club in high school where he enjoyed being on stage because he was able to overcome his stuttering problem. After high school he had several jobs and attended Montclair State University, but after his junior year he made his way to New York to pursue acting. After doing some work off Broadway and in commercials he headed to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. He got several small parts and eventually auditioned for the lead in the television series Moonlighting. He beat out over 3,000 actors wanting the part and the show made him a household name, establishing his comedic acting talents.
Soon after the Moonlighting series, Bruce began showing up in films such as Blind Date and Sunset. But is was the release of the 1988 film Die Hard that made him a bonafide star. The film grossed over $140,767,000 worldwide and Willis would go on to star in all four sequels. Although a few poorly received films followed Die Hard, he would again boost his career with the hit Pulp Fiction.
In addition to his many movie rolls, many quite successful, he again went back to television to join the cast of Friends. He has lent his voice to both cartoons and video games. Music has also been an important part of his life, and he has recorded with 50 Cent, Chrissie Hynde, and Blues Traveler in addition to having three solo albums.
Along with fellow actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, he financially backed Planet Hollywood, a theme based restaurant chain. From his many years in film, on TV, and in music, we estimate Bruce Willis to be worth $150,000,000 (GBP 95,335,314).
So how much is $150 million dollars really?
Since Bruce is carrying guns in a lot of his movies, we think he might like to play with them in real life. For $150 million dollars, he could buy the Arsenal SLR-106CR 5.56 NATO/223 AK74 Rifle with 2 stage trigger for only $1,299. For that price he could buy 115,473 of them. Although, it may look a little strange carrying one of those around so maybe he should just buy a Kahr CW9 9mm with a stainless steel poly frame for only $376. For that price Bruce could buy 398,936 of them. That’s a lot of tough guy action.
