Unless you have been living under a rock, you are familiar with who Michael J. Fox is! He was very popular on the sitcom, Family Ties in the 80s. He played the smart business-like son that often found a way out of any situation. He is also well-known for his role as Marty in the Back to the Future films. From 1996 to 2000, he also starred on the hit series Spin City.

You may be puzzled when you see above that his middle name is Andrew. Such information is correct though. The “J” that is part of his famous name was incorporated for business purposes only. He was born in Canada where his mom was a theatre actress and his father was a police officer. The family moved often when he was young to various parts of Canada. Michael J. Fox starred in his first role when he was 15, on a Canadian TV series called Leo and Me.

Acting has taken a backseat these days for Michael J. Fox due to his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease. However, you will still hear his voice. He has loaned it to such films as Stuart Little. He is a leading advocate for the cause, offering education and money to help get Parkinson’s disease better recognized in society. One of the effects from the disease is the constant movements of the body, which makes it hard to take on any acting role.

He is married to Tracey Pollen and the couple has 4 children, 1 boy and 3 girls. It was once reported that he wouldn’t want any son of his dating Taylor Swift! His current worth is $65 million. In spite of the health issues Michael J. Fox has been faced with, he still has a wonderful sense of humor and says he’s a very lucky man!

How much is $65 Million Really?

They say that you just can’t put a price tag on your overall health and well-being. Without a doubt, Michael J. Fox would likely trade in every dollar for the medical capabilities for his Parkinson’s disease to be cured. $25 million invested in stem cell research, which is believed to be the key to curing the disease would be money very well spent. Not only for his future, but for all of the people in the world that are affected by it.

Protecting his family is a priority, and it could cost him $5 million or more a year to keep his son Sam and his 3 daughters out of the spotlight. This would cost him about $40 million to pay for it until his daughters are all grown up.
