Daniel Radcliffe was born in West London, England the only child of literary agent Alan Radcliffe and casting agent Marcia Gresham. He enjoyed acting from a young age and was in many school plays. At 10 years of age he landed the role of young David Copperfield in the movie by the same name, followed two years later by The Tailor of Panama. It was his next film role being cast as the famous Harry Potter starred with Emma Watson that launched him into a household name. Daniel’s income for the first Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (co-starring Rupert Grint and John Cleese) movie was $1 million. That figure grew with each movie, with him receiving $50 million for the final two installments, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2.

Trying to break away from the typecasting of Harry Potter, Daniel took on the role of Alan Strang in Equus in London’s West End in 2007. The following year he left for Broadway to continue the role to both audience and critical acclaim. In 2010 Daniel starred on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.

Daniel has also been in the film December Boys and most recently The Woman in Black. It seems as if his wish of not getting stereotyped is coming true. December Boys is a coming of age film shot in Australia, while The Woman in Black is a dramatic thriller in which Daniel plays a lawyer who discovers a ghost terrorizing a town. It is likely Daniel took a considerable pay cut to play in The Woman in Black, but in doing so he is helping to create a new viewer, one who is able to see him as someone other than Harry Potter. From all of his movies and time on stage, we estimate that Daniel Radcliffe’s net worth at $80 million dollars (GPB $50 million).

How much is $80 million dollars really?

With $80 million dollars Daniel could buy 533,333 hardcover boxed sets of the Harry Potter series. But since he knows the ending, he may want to buy 2,666,700 brooms or even 640,000 pairs of glasses.

But he’s not really Harry Potter, is he? Daniel Radcliffe would much rather spend his money on artwork. But if you’re thinking you’d like to be in his shoes (or wallet, perhaps) know this; even with his millions, he still could only purchase one Claude Monet’s Le Bassin aux Nynmpheas.
