Name: Norman Mark Reedus
Born: January 6, 1969
Occupation: Actor, model
Born in Hollywood, Florida, Norman Reedus was quickly transplanted to and raised in Los, Angeles, California. He stayed in Los Angeles until he turned 12, at which point he left home. He spent some time playing on the professional tennis circuit and then jettisoned around Spain, Japan, and a few other European locations with his mother.
Reedus eventually found a girlfriend and landed himself back in Los Angeles, where he got a $7.50/hr job working in a motorcycle shop. He didn’t make his acting debut until he made a spectacle of himself, putting on a pair of sunglasses and screaming at a party. Someone there asked him to be in a play, and his career was cemented.
Despite his interesting start, Norman Reedus generally seems to fly under the radar. He made his first movie in 1997 but didn’t gain any notoriety until The Boondock Saints was released in 1999. In 2005, Norman was in a horrific car accident while traveling in Germany. As a result of the facial damage, he ended up having pins put in his nose and he now sports a titanium eye socket.
His real fame was solidified in 2010 when he took the role of Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead, portraying a character that was created specifically for him to play, rather than one that was originally part of the series.
Reedus does have a son, Mingus Lucien, with his ex-girlfriend Helena Christensen. Their long-term relationship didn’t work out, but they’ve remained friends and share parenting responsibilities. Norman currently lives in NYC with his son and is estimated to be worth $3 million, mostly in part due to his $80,000 per episode salary for The Walking Dead.
So how much is $3 million really?
Considering his love not only for acting, but for video production as well, Norman Reedus could use some of his hard earned cash to help up and coming artists produce music videos. The average video budget tends to range from $200,000 to $500,000, so he could certainly help at least a few of his favorite local artists make their mark on the world.
Not into music videos? How about tattoos? Norman has a series of them and he could hire some of the best artists in the country and open his own string of Reedus/Dixon-inspired tattoo parlors. The average start-up cost is about $15,000 and his fans would love visiting shops backed by their favorite actor!
