Name: Kathrin Romary “Kate” Beckinsale
Born: July 26, 1973
Occupation: Actress, model
Kate Beckinsale was born in Finsbury Park, London, England on July 26, 1973. She is the daughter of Richard Beckinsale, an English actor, and Judy Loe, an English actress. Her father died in 1971, while her mother later remarried to director Roy Battersby.
She was educated at the Godolphin and Latymer School, an independent school for girls located in West London. Kate was also involved with the Orange Tree Youth Theater, read French and Russian literature at New College, Oxford and studied in Paris as part of her studies. Kate is a two-time winner of the WH Smith Young Writers Award for both fiction and poetry.
The actress had dated fellow actor Michael Sheen from 1995 to 2003. She then married successful director Len Wiseman in 2004. The couple recently separated and now there are reports that Kate is seeing Ben Affleck (as of 2015).
Kate first appeared in minor roles in several television movies, series and mini-series. She made her theatrical debut in the 1993 motion picture “Much Ado About Nothing” and had then appeared in various costume dramas throughout the 1990s, such as “Royal Deceit” and “Emma.”
In 1999, Kate moved to Hollywood and hasn’t looked back since. After just two years in the United States, Kate had a breakout year by starring in the box office hits “Pearl Harbor” and “Serendipity.” In 2003, she starred in one of the biggest Hollywood franchises “Underworld.”
Since then, Kate has made appearances in “The Aviator,” “Van Helsing,” “Click” and the remake of “Total Recall.” She is currently filming another installment of “Underworld” and “Love and Friendship,” a film adaptation of the Jane Austen novella “Lady Susan.”
We estimate that Kate Beckinsale’s net worth is $16 million (2015).
So how much is $16 million really?
$16 million is more than five times the net worth of her former partner, Michael Sheen ($3 million). It’s also more than her husband’s $15 million net worth. However, it’s less than the net wealth of many of her co-stars, like Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Sandler and Hugh Jackman.
$16 million can buy you 1.6 million copies of “Serendipity” on Amazon if you need that much romance in your life. $16 million can also buy you more than 1,200 terms at the Godolphin and Latymer School. Feel like visiting London? $16 million can buy you approximately 15,000 plane tickets from New York to London (before tax).
