Bethenny Frankel was born on November 4, 1970 in New York City, New York. She is the daughter of Robert J. Frankel and Bernadette Birk, an interior designer. After her father divorced her mother, she married John Parisella, a horse trainer. Bethenny often describes her childhood as difficult and notes how her parents constantly argued or how her mother regularly drank alcohol.
Bethenny had moved many times and attended various schools across the city in her youth. She was finally sent off to boarding school. In 1988, Bethenny graduated from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A couple of years later, she attended the Natural Gourmet Institute and New York University.
She has been married twice before. In 1996, she wedded Peter Sussman, an entertainment industry executive, but then divorced him just one year later. In 2010, she married Jason Hoppy, a pharmaceutical sales executive, but then filed for divorce in 2013. Reportedly, she has been romantically linked to CNBC‘s Marcus Lemonis (2015). Bethenny has one daughter, Bryn Hoppy.
Bethenny got her first job on the set of “Saved by the Bell,” in which she worked as a production assistant. She also had roles in “Soiree Sans Hors D’oeuvres,” “Hollywood Hills 90028” and “Wish Me Luck.” Bethenny starred in “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.”
Her biggest break came in 2008 when she was cast for a role in the hit reality television series “The Real Housewives of New York City.” She left after the third season, but returned in the seventh season. During her hiatus from the show, she appeared in an array of television shows as herself, including “Z Rock,” “Chelsea Lately,” “Bethenny Ever After” and “The Neighbors.”
Between 2009 and 2014, Bethenny published six books, including “Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting,” “The Skinnygirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life” and “A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life.”
Over the years, she has been vehemently criticized for some her controversial remarks and actions. For instance, in 2009 she posed nude for PETA, while in 2015 she was accused of making racist remarks at a K-Mart.
We estimate that Bethenny Frankel’s net worth is $25 million (2016).
So how much is $25 million really?
Bethenny is the second richest cast member of RHONY. She has a net worth greater than Dorinda Medley ($20 million), Kristen Taekman ($20 million), Ramona Singer ($18 million) and Sonja Morgan ($8 million).
$25 million can buy you at least five SoHo apartments similar to Bethenny’s. $25 million can also buy you tuition to five different certificate programs at the Natural Gourmet Institute for about 1,200 people.
