Jada Pinkett-Smith was born on September 18, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland. She is the daughter of Robsol Pinkett, Jr., who was head of a construction company, and Adrienne Banfield-Jones, a head nurse of an inner-city health clinic in Baltimore. She has a younger brother, Caleeb, who is an actor and writer.
After her grandmother noticed her passion for the performing arts, she attended the Baltimore School for the Arts, where she majored in dance and theater and graduated in 1989. She later attended the North Carolina School of the Arts to enhance her acting career. Dedicated to her craft, she moved to Los Angeles and entered the entertainment industry.
The actress has been romantically linked to Wesley Snipes and Grant Hill. She is currently married to Hollywood blockbuster star Will Smith. The couple have two children, Jaden and Willow.
