Name: Kate Irene Kreider Gosselin
Born: March 28, 1975
Occupation: Reality TV Star
Kate Gosselin began her reality television career when she and her then husband, Jon were featured on a Discovery Channel Health special called Surviving Sextuplets and Twins. The special went over so well that the channel decided to film another one the following year entitled Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later. The ratings for the second special went through the roof so the Discovery Channel decided to sign the pair to a contract for a new show called Jon and Kate plus Eight. The program followed the goings on of the Gosselin household and cameras were running for three or four days each week. Discovery aired the reality show for two years before it began airing on TLC network. In 2009, the show went on hiatus because the couple decided to get divorced and the family dynamic was not the same as it was in the past. The couple received between 30 thousand dollars and 150 thousand dollars for the 150 episodes of the program. TLC did create Kate plus Eight but that show lasted only two months before cancellation.
Gosselin has made other attempts to continue her celebrity status but none ever came to fruition. Kate has written three books, Multiple Blessings, Eight Little Faces and I Just Want You To Know. They were well received and quite popular. Since November of 2011, Gosselin has been a contributing blogger of the grocery savings website, Coupon Cabin. It is estimated that Kate Gosselin’s net worth is around 5 Million dollars however; she absolutely denies that figure.
So, how much is 5 Million dollars really?
Since Kate Gosselin portrays herself as the typical Mom, she might very well enjoy baking fresh pies. When apples are in season, they usually cost about $1.29 per pound. Kate could buy 3,856,041 pounds of the delicious fruit. It takes about three pounds of apples to make the filling for a pie. So, Kate Gosselin could afford to bake 1,285,347 pies. This is more than enough pies to give every person in the city of Boston 2 yummy apple pies. 5 Million dollars is a lot of pie.
