Name: Gal Gadot
Born: April 30, 1985
Occupation: Actress, model and military combat instructor
Gal Gadot was born on April 30, 1985 in Rosh HaAyin, Israel. She is the daughter of an engineer and a school teacher. Gal has been open and upfront that she was born into a “very Jewish, Israeli family environment,” and she currently maintains her Jewish and Israeli identity.
Before embarking upon an education or a career, Gal was enlisted into the Israel Defense Forces at the age of 18. She served as a combat instructor for two years. Gal attended university in the hopes of studying law. However, she attended the 2004 Miss Israel Competition and was victorious. She later participated in a Miss Universe pageant, but ultimately lost. This prompted her to launch a career in modeling and acting.
In 2008, Gal married her longtime boyfriend, Yaron Versano, an Israeli real estate developer. Three years later, the couple had a child, Alma. They presently reside in Tel Aviv.
Gal, upon completion of her first year at university, was asked to audition for the part of a Bond girl in the motion picture “Quantum of Solace.” Gal eventually lost the part to Olga Kurylenko. Although she didn’t receive the role, Gal was hired for the part of Gisele in the blockbuster smash hit film series “Fast & Furious.”
Gal has appeared in other films, including “Date Night,” “Knight and Day,” “Triple 9,” “Criminal” and “Bubot.” Of course, Gal’s biggest part to date is her portrayal of the iconic comic book character Wonder Woman in the international hit “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Gal will reprise her role in a standalone Wonder Woman movie and in two Justice League films.
Over the years, Gal has modeled for an array of international campaigns for such brands as Captain Morgan rum, Jaguar Cars, Gucci fragrances and Vine Vera skin care. She has also been featured as a covergirl for magazines like Cosmopolitan, Bride Magazine, FHM and Glamour.
Gal is quite the athlete, which is likely why she performed her own stunts in the “Fast & Furious” pictures. Gal is an avid motorcycle rider and basketball, tennis and volleyball player. Dedicated to building muscle for the Wonder Woman role, Gal has performed kung fu, jiu jitsu, sword fighting and kickboxing.
