Mike attended the Columbus North High School and graduated in 1977. He would attend Hanover College after high school and would earn a Bachelor’s of Arts in history in 1981. Mike then went to the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and earned his J.D. in 1986.
He has been married to his wife, Karen, since 1985. They have three children: Audrey, Michael and Charlotte. The family currently lives in Columbus, Indiana.
Mike got his first job in 1981 when he served as an admissions counselor at Hanover College from 1981 to 1983. Upon his graduation from law school in 1986, Mike immediately jumped into his career by working as an attorney in private practice. He would later become president of the Indiana Policy Review Foundation and a member of the State Policy Network. Mike also hosted “The Mike Pence Show,” a conservative political talk radio show.
Mike first tried his hand in politics in 1988, when he ran against Democrat Philip R. Sharp. He lost by nearly seven percent. Two years later, Mike tried again, but he lost by an even wider margin: 19 percent. It was in 2000 when Mike finally won a congressional election. He served as the Indiana district’s representative until 2012, when he ran for governor of the state. He won by just three percent.
After serving just one term as governor, he stepped down in order to run for vice president. In July 2016, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced that he would be picking Mike Pence as his running mate in the general election.
To summarize his political positions: opposed the Wall Street and automobile industry bailouts, supports limiting federal spending, voted against No Child Left Behind, supported the Iraq War, supported Patriot Act, opposes same-sex marriage, supports the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Outside of politics, Mike is a dedicated Christian and his son, Michael, is a Second Lieutant in the United States Marine Corps (USMC).
We estimate that Mike Pence’s net worth is $150,000 (2016).
So how much is $150,000 really?
$150,000 can pay for at least one percent of a presidential campaign in the United States. $150,000 could also help cover around one-tenth of a congressional campaign.
