Occupation: Professional wrestler
Becky Lynch was born in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland on January 30, 1987. She has one sibling, who is also a professional wrestler and uses the in-ring name Gonzo de Mondo. Describing herself as a “wild child” by being involved in marijuana and alcohol, Becky was always supported by her father for anything she wanted to do, though her mother was a bit apprehensive about her pursuit of pro-wrestling.
In her youth, Becky was active in horseback riding, basketball and swimming. Her passion was wrestling. Becky attended university, where she studied politics, history and philosophy, but she would drop out. However, after taking a brief hiatus from the world of wrestling, Becky attended the Dublin Institute of Technology, Columbia College Chicago and the Gaiety School of Acting, Becky would earn a degree in acting.
It has been reported that Becky is dating UFC fighter Luke “Cool Hand” Sanders (2016).
Becky first got involved with pro-wrestling as a teenager. Becky had discovered that Finn Balor and Paul Tracey were launching a wrestling school in Ireland. In 2002, Becky would train at the school with her brother. A few months later, using the name Rebecca Knox, Becky made her in-ring debut in a mixed tag team match.
She would eventually tour the world and compete for an array of North American, Japanese and European promotions, such as World Association of Wrestling (WAW), Shimmer, SuperGirls Wrestling, All Pro Wrestling (APW), New England Championship Wrestling and International Women’s Grand Prix.
Despite the hard work and success, Becky had to quit pro-wrestling and move on. Becky would try out acting on the stage and on TV – she performed stunt work on the hit series “Vikings.” She would spend nearly three years employed as a flight attendant for Aer Lingus. She may have been done with wrestling due to a string of health problems, but wrestling wasn’t done with her.
In 2013, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) signed Becky to a two-year developmental deal and was sent to NXT as part of the company’s efforts to make women’s wrestling more serious. She excelled and became a member of the Four Horsewomen, alongside Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Bayley. Becky would make her main roster debut in 2015 with Charlotte and Sasha and enter into programs with the Bella Twins, Paige, Natalya and other members of the women’s roster.
Becky competed in one of the best matches of 2016 at WrestleMania XXXII in a triple threat match against Charlotte and Sasha. Although she would linger on the main roster for a couple of months, she would attain success when the WWE established the brand split, which allowed her to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
We estimate that Becky Lynch’s net worth is $650,000 (2016).
