Luke Harper was born in Rochester, New York on December 16, 1979. He has one brother. Luke is presently married and has one son, Brodie.

Luke launched his professional wrestling career in backyard wrestling. Eventually, Luke would be formally trained by Kirby Marcos, Rik Matrix and Tony Mamaluke. He would perform under the name of Brodie Lee, a combination of actor Jason Lee and his character Brodie Lee. Luke has cited The Big Show, Jake Roberts and Rick Rude has his major wrestling influences.

Luke is a seasoned veteran on the independent scene. He has performed for a large number of pro-wrestling organizations, including Chikara, Ring of Honor (ROH), Squared Circle Wrestling, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, Evolve and Dragon Gate USA. He has won championships all over the world and in different divisions.

It was in 2012 that Luke signed a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He would be sent to the company’s developmental territory known as Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), which later became NXT. He would become a part of The Wyatt Family and play Bray Wyatt’s right-hand man. Luke would make his debut on the WWE main roster in July 2013.

After a brief hiatus from The Wyatt Family, in which he won the Intercontinental Championship, Luke returned to the group. Luke would be drafted to the SmackDown brand in July 2016 alongside Bray and would become one-third of the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions (Bray and Randy Orton). Soon after losing the tag titles, Bray turned on Luke. Since then, Luke has performed as a face and has challenged for the WWE Championship.

Outside of wrestling, Luke has appeared in the 2017 motion picture “Mohawk.”
