Name: Christopher Charles Cuomo
Born: August 9, 1970
Occupation: Attorney, journalist and web publisher
Chris Cuomo was born on August 9, 1970 in New York City, New York. He is the son of Mario Cuomo, the former Governor of New York, and Matilda Raffa. He has four siblings: Maria, Margaret, Madeline and Andrew, the Governor of New York. He is also the brother-in-law of Kenneth Cole and Kerry Kennedy.
Chris attended The Albany Academy, a private university preparatory day school in Albany, New York. He would later attend Yale University, earning an undergraduate degree, and then Fordham University, obtaining a Juris Doctor (J.D.). Chris is a licensed attorney.
Chris has been married to Cristina Greeven, editor of Gotham magazine, since 2001. They have three children: Bella, Mario and Carolina Regina. The family currently resides in New York City.
Chris first started his career in journalism when he reported on political and social matters on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC and CNBC. He would go on to serve as co anchor of ABC’s “20/20” and news anchor for “Good Morning America.” Throughout his journalism career, he covered a wide variety of issues: homeless teenagers, childhood bullying, the war on terrorism, natural disasters, consumer affairs and United States politics.
In 2013, he headed over to CNN. He made his first appearance on the cable news network by working as a field anchor for “Piers Morgan Tonight.” He would then become the co-anchor for the network’s “New Day” morning show, and still covers breaking news and major stories.
In his spare time, he publishes a website called Cuomo on the Case. The web portal serves as a platform to answer questions from audiences and to report and discuss the day’s top stories.
Despite a successful career in journalism, Chris has been the subject of controversy. For instance, he performed atheism checks on four presidential candidates during the 2016 election: Green Party’s Jill Stein, Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson and William Weld and Democratic Party’s Bernie Sanders. As another example, he said that hate speech is not covered under the First Amendment. He also claimed that calling a journalist “fake news” was akin to an ethnic slur.
He has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards. In 1997, Chris was named one of People magazine‘s 50 Most Beautiful People
We estimate that Chris Cuomo’s net worth is $2.5 million (2016).
So how much is $2.5 million really?
$2.5 million can help you launch your own professional digital newspaper with journalists and editors. $2.5 million can also help you purchase physical copies of the U.S. Constitution so Chris can learn about the First Amendment.
