Freddie Highmore was born in London, England on February 14, 1992. He is the son of Edward Highmore, an actor, and Sue Latimer, a talent agent. He has one sibling: Albert.
Freddie attended Hampstead Garden Suburb and Highgate School. He went on to study at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, earning a Double First in Arabic and Spanish.
He is presently dating Abigail Breslin, and has been in relationships with Sarah Bolger and Dakota Fanning. Freddie currently resides in North London.
Freddie’s acting career began when he was just seven years old. At the same time, he studied hard and would intern at a law firm in Madrid translating documents. Throughout his youth, he appeared in a wide array of television series and motion pictures, such as “Women Talking Dirty,” “The Mists of Avalon,” “Happy Birthday Shakespeare,” “Two Brothers” and “Five Children and It.” He would go on to earn several award wins and nominations for his role in “Finding Neverland,” including a Critics’ Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
In 2005, he would star in his biggest project to date in the remake of the cult classic “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” opposite of Johnny Depp. He was also nominated for his role. This allowed him to star in larger productions, including “A Good Year,” “Arthur and the Invisible” and “The Spiderwick Chronicles.”
Many will recognize Freddie for his portrayal of the iconic role of Norman Bates in the smash hit A&E series “Bates Motel.” He has been nominated for numerous awards. He also wrote one episode in the fourth season and will go on to write and direct an episode in the final season.
Television audiences will next see Freddie in the role of Baby Face Nelson in the A&E series “Baby Face,” a show that he co-wrote and will executive produce. He is also set to star in “The Canterville Ghost” and “The Good Doctor.”
Freddie has been lauded for expanding his horizons by providing his voice for a series of video games and appearing in several music videos.
