Name: Erin Isabelle Burnett
Born: July 2, 1976
Occupation: Media personality
Erin Burnett was born on July 2, 1976 in Mardela Springs, Maryland. She is the daughter of Kenneth King Burnett, a corporate attorney, and Esther Margaret Stewart. Erin comes from Irish and Scottish ancestry and was raised as a Catholic.
Erin attended St. Andrew’s School in Delaware, which was a private college preparatory boarding school. After graduating in 1994, she attended Williams College to study political science and economics, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in political economy. During her studies, she was an avid field hockey and lacrosse player.
In 2003, Erin started to date David Rubulotta, a former trader for Lehman Brothers and managing director for Citigroup. They were married in December 2012. The couple have two children: Nyle Thomas and Colby Isabelle. The family presently resides in New York City, New York.
Erin’s career began when she served as a financial analyst for Goldman Sachs in 1998. She worked primarily in the Wall Street titan’s investment banking division, analyzing corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
During her tenure at Goldman Sachs, she was offered a role as a writer and scheduler at CNN. After a short period of time, she headed to Citigroup to serve as its vice president of digital media group. Following her time at Citigroup, she went over to Bloomberg to function as an anchor and Stocks Editor, and then later transferred over to CNBC to be a host and co-anchor.
In 2011, Erin left the network after five years and returned to CNN as an anchor to head the prime-time news program called “Erin Burnett OutFront.”
Erin has been accused over the years of biased reporting. For example, in 2009, she referred to Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as a “serial killer” for spending millions of dollars on aerial shooting of feral camels. As another instance, she made fun of Occupy Wall Street protesters, and some say she did this because her husband works on Wall Street.
We estimate that Erin Burnett’s net worth is $12 million (2016).
So how much is $12 million really?
$12 million can pay for a wide array of financial documentaries. $12 million can also help you invest in a hedge fund offered by Goldman Sachs
