Ariel Winter was born on January 28, 1998 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Glenn Workman, a father of English and German descent, and Chrisoula Batistas, a mother of Greek descent. She has two siblings: Jimmy and Shanelle, both are actors. Her brother-in-law is David Barry Gray.
In fall 2017, Ariel will be attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to study law.
Ariel has been in relationships with Cameron Palatas, Levi Meaden and Laurent Gaudette – she broke up with Laurent in 2016. Ariel presently resides in Los Angeles.
Her entertainment career started when she was just four years old. Her first gig was a television commercial for Cool Whip. She would soon after garner her first television role in the series “Listen Up!” She would then appear in a wide array of popular TV series, such as “ER,” “Bones,” “Freddie,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Monk.” Ariel’s biggest role to date is that of Alex Dunphy in the ultra popular series “Modern Family.”
Ariel has appeared on the big screen, starring in such films as “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” “Opposite Day,” “Fred 2” and “Speed Racer.” She would be nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2012 for her leading role in “The Chaperone.”
Ariel has started to lend her voice to film and TV animation in such projects as “Sofia the First,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” “Bambi II” and “Ice Age: The Meltdown.” She has also had voice roles in a handful of video games, including “Final Fantasy XIII-2,” “Guild Wars 2” and “Kingdom Hearts.”
Outside of acting, Ariel has a purple belt in Taekwando, records songs with her friends and is a big fan of track, soccer and tennis.
