Reese attended Harding Academy and Harpeth Hall School. Upon graduation, Reese studied English literature at Stanford University. She would leave after just one year to pursue an acting career.
During her early career, she dated Mark Wahlberg. Reese was married to actor Ryan Phillippe in 1999, but divorced in 2006. They have two children: Ava Elizabeth and Deacon Reese. She then entered into a relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, but they broke up in 2009. Reese would marry talent agent Jim Toth in 2011. They have one son, Tennessee James. The family currently lives in California.
At the age of seven, Reese decided to take acting lessons after being selected as a model for a local florist’s television commercials. In 1991, she would make her motion picture debut in the film “The Man in the Moon,” which garnered her a nomination for the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress. She would make her television debut in the TV movie “Desperate Choices: To Save My Child.”
After gaining critical praise in such films as “Fear” and “Freeway,” Reese would land three major parts in the late-1990s: “Twilight,” “Pleasantville” and “Overnight Delivery.” A year later, she starred in another couple of big films: “Best Laid Plans” and “Cruel Intentions.” She would receive immense buzz for her role in “Election.” Reese was able to appear in both art house films and blockbuster smash hits for the next several years, like “Legally Blonde,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “American Psycho” and “Vanity Fair.”

Reese conceded to floundering around in the entertainment industry for a few years. However, since 2013, Reese has lent her acting talents to multiple serious movies, including “Mud,” “Devil’s Knot” and “The Good Lie.” Her next acting projects include “Tinker Bell,” “Wish List” and “A Wrinkle in Time.”
She has also gone behind the camera by producing “Gone Girl,” “Big Little Lies” and “Home Again.” These projects art part of her production companies called Hello Sunshine and Type A Films.
She cites the likes of Carole Lombard, Lucille Ball, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts as her biggest acting influences.
Outside of moviemaking, Reese created Draper James, a fashion and home décor retail brand. It was also announced in March 2017 that Reese would be tapped to be the storyteller-in-chief for Elizabeth Arden.
Reese is also a big philanthropist, primarily involved in children’s and women’s advocacy organizations. She is huge supporter of Save the Children and Children’s Defense Fund.
We estimate that Reese Witherspoon’s net worth is $80 million (2017).
So how much is $80 million really?
$80 million can be donated to a wide variety of children’s and women’s charities. $80 million could have also paid for all of the actors’ salaries in the James L. Brook’s 2008 flop “How Do You Know.”
