She has two siblings: Mark, an Ambassador, and Ian, a military expert. Her first cousin is author Matthew Brzezinski.
Mika attended Madeira School and later Georgetown University. Mika would transfer to Williams College and earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1989.
In the 1990s, she was married to James Hoffer, a TV news reporter, but they divorced in 2016. They have two daughters, Emilie and Carlie. It was announced in early 2017 that she is engaged to “Morning Joe” co-host and former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough.
In 1990, Mika started her journalism career at ABC, working as an assistant for the news network’s “World News This Morning.” Mika gradually progressed, moving to WTIC-TV/WTIC-DT in Hartford, Connecticut, working as a reporter covering features and general assignments. In 1992, she transferred to WFSB-TV/WFSB-DT in Hartford and eventually became in anchor in 1995. It was in 1997 when she became an anchor and correspondent for CBS News. Four years later, Mika was hired by MSNBC, but she went back to CBS in September 2001, covering the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Mika became a permanent member of the MSNBC staff in 2007. She initially provided primetime newsbreaks throughout the week and filled in for anchors. Mika was then chosen to co-host “Morning Joe” with Joe Scarborough – she often told people that she was a Democrat and Joe was a Republican.
Outside of cable news, Mika has published three books: “All Things at Once,” “Knowing Your Value: Women, Money, and Getting What You’re Worth,” and “Obsessed: America’s Food Addiction and My Own.”
Mika has made the news over the past year, primarily for aggressively complaining about United States President Donald Trump and his administration. She also made headlines when it was revealed she was told to stop criticizing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and its treatment of Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders. There was further controversy when she said it was her job to “control exactly what people think.”
We estimate that Mika Brzezinski’s net worth is $12 million (2017).
So how much is $12 million really?
$12 million can pay for the annual salary of some of the biggest names in news. $12 million can also fund a political action committee (PAC) to go after President Donald Trump in 2020.
