Joe Scarborough was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 9, 1963. He is the son of George Francis Scarborough, a businessman, and Mary Joanna Clark. He has two siblings: George and Carol.
Joe attended Pensacola Catholic High School. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. From there, he went to the University of Florida College of Law in 1990 and received his J.D.
Joe has been married twice before. He was first married to Melanie Hinton, but they divorced in 1999. They have two children. In 2001, he got married for a second time to Susan Waren, a former congressional committee staff, but they divorced in 2013. They also have two children together. It was announced in early 2017 that he is engaged to Mika Brzezinski. He presently lives in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Soon after law school, Joe was admitted to the Florida Bar and immediately practiced law. One of his biggest cases was representing anti-abortionist Michael F. Griffin, who was accused of killing a doctor in 1993. He eventually excused himself from the case and helped Griffin seek other legal counsel.
By 1994, Joe got into politics, winning the Republican Party’s primary for Florida’s 1st congressional district. He would win both the primary and the general, serving three full terms in Congress – he resigned five months into his fourth term.
Once he left politics, Joe returned to the law profession, acting as an environmental attorney for the Levin Papantino Law Firm in Florida. However, Joe has been regularly courted to run for the United States Senate and various gubernatorial races, all of which he has turned down.
In 2003, Joe turned his attention to media, launching “Scarborough Country” on MSNBC. A few years later, he co-hosted “Morning Joe” with his now-fiancee, Mika. He also hosted a three-hour radio show, founded a weekly Pensacola newspaper and regularly writes op-ed pieces in several newspapers.
Joe has published three books: “Rome Wasn’t Burnt in a Day: the Real Deal on how Politicians, Bureaucrats, and other Washington Barbarians are Bankrupting America,” “The Last Best Hope” and “The Right Path: From Ike to Reagan, How Republicans Once Mastered Politics – and Can Again.”
Outside of politics and media, Joe writes and produces CDs – in 2017, he released his debut extended play (EP), and plans to do so every month until 2021.
We estimate that Joe Scarborough’s net worth is $16 million (2017).
So how much is $16 million really?
$16 million can produce your own high-quality news and analysis program. $16 million can also fund a political action committee (PAC) to attack President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
