Chris attended Lakeland Senior High School. Following his senior year in high school, Chris was drafted in the 21st round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the Colorado Rockies, but decided to go to college instead. Earning a scholarship to Florida Gulf Coast University, he became a major force in college baseball, posting an 11-0 record, 2.07 ERA, 103 innings and 146 strikeouts in 2010. He was named NCAA Pitcher of the Year for his outstanding performance.
In 2012, Chris married model Brianna Aron and they have one child together: Rylan. The family currently resides in Southwest Florida.
Chris finally decided to head to the majors, being drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2010. After a couple of months playing in the minors, Chris was called up to the main roster, making his debut on August 6, 2010 against the Baltimore Orioles.
In his first two seasons, he was a reliever. By 2012, Chris transitioned into a starting pitcher, earning 17 wins and recording 192 strikeouts. For the next few years, he continued his success, though there were some hiccups, including a couple of injuries and not garnering enough run support from the team.
The White Sox traded Chris to the Boston Red Sox in December 2016 for a few prospects. Due to his incredible success – striking out at least 10 batters in eight straight starts – he was voted to the 2017 American League All-Star team and was the starting pitcher. He has become one of the most popular players on the Red Sox team with many fans declaring his starts as Sale Day.
We estimate that Chris Sale’s net worth is $24 million (2017).
So how much is $24 million really?
$24 million pays for the annual salary of struggling Red Sox starting pitcher David Price. $24 million also pays for two years of Chris Sale’s contract.
