Name: Reinhold Richard Priebus
Born: March 18, 1972
Occupation: Attorney and Republican aide
Reince Priebus was born in Dover, New Jersey on March 18, 1972. He is the son of Richard Priebus, a union electrician, and Dimitria Pitsiladis, a Sudanese-born real estate agent.
He attended Tremper High School and finished in 1990. Upon graduation, Reince attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, majoring in English and political science. Soon after his graduation in 1994, Reince signed up at the University of Miami School of Law to earn his law degree.
Reince has been married to Sally L. Sherrow since 1999 and they have two children, Grace and Jack.
During his university days, he became a clerk at the Wisconsin State Assembly Education Committee. Later, he served as a clerk for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He also interned at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
In the late 1990s, he enrolled as a member of the state bar. In 2006, he was hired by Michael Best & Friedrich LLP to serve as a partner.
He contracted the political bug in the mid-2000s as he ran for the Wisconsin State Senate in 2004, but lost to Democratic incumbent Robert Wirch, who defeated him by four percent. Three years later, Reince was chosen to chair the Wisconsin Republican Party. In 2009, he was tapped as the general counsel for the Republican National Committee (RNC).
By 2011, Reince was elected as chairman of the Republican National Committee, which paid dividends for the GOP. He raised tens of millions of dollars, slashed the RNC’s debt by tens of millions of dollars and helped Republican candidates gain the House and Senate at both the federal and state level. In 2016, the Republicans controlled the White House as well. He served as head of the RNC for three consecutive terms.
Despite his staunch criticisms of Donald Trump throughout the 2016 election campaign, the president announced that Reince would be the White House Chief of Staff. In July 2017, Reince confirmed that he was stepping down from his position, succeeded by John Kelly. Reince currently holds the record of the shortest tenure of Chief of Staff in U.S. history.
We estimate that Reince Priebus’s net worth is $2 million (2017).
So how much is $2 million really?
$2 million can pay for just one percent of an entire presidential campaign. $2 million can also pay for less than a fifth of a U.S. congressional race.
