Name: Giuseppe Piero Grillo
Born: July 21, 1948
Occupation: Media personality, politician and writer
Beppe Grillo was born on July 21, 1948 in Genoa, Italy. He is the son of Enrico and Piera Grillo, and has one sibling: Andrea.
After he graduated from high school, Beppe attended university to study accounting, but he did not finish.
He has been married to Parvin Tadjik, a television personality, since 1996. They have four children together: Luna, Rocco, Ciro and Davide. The family presently resides in Milan.
Rather than receiving an education, Beppe became a comedian, which propelled him to the top of the entertainment industry. He appeared in various television series, motion pictures and commercial advertisements during the 1970s and 1980s. Beppe has faced vehement criticism over his career for poking fun at Italian politicians, many of whom were offended by the jokes and satire. After numerous complaints, Beppe was eventually banned from public television.
Throughout the 1990s, Beppe was unable to appear on public television. When he did make an appearance on a live broadcast in 1993, it garnered more than 15 million viewers, which prompted executives to permit him to return to television, participating in political debates.
Beppe went into politics and headed the Five Star Movement. For years, he has used his blog to promote the party’s objectives, and has received widespread support from many prominent figures.
The political organization talks freedom of speech, political corruption, globalization, child labor and public finance. A few of his group’s biggest talking points is the refugee crisis, the influx of refugees from Africa and the Middle East and leaving the European Union (EU) – the movement has been dubbed as an Italexit. This has made him a leading populist figure in Italy and is presently leading the political polls ahead of this year’s national election.
He has often been lambasted for his lifestyle, taking advantage of the political system and being demagogic in lamenting on politicians. Because of this, many talking heads have compared Beppe to U.S. President Donald Trump – some of his opponents have gone as far as comparing Beppe to Benito Mussolini.
We estimate that Beppe Grillo’s net worth is $275 million (2017).
So how much is $275 million really?
$275 million can cover the entire costs of running a successful national political campaign. $275 million can also pay for the partial costs of being a member of the European trade bloc.
