This propelled him to the 1996 Olympics, winning a Bronze medal in the featherweight division.
After the Olympics, he launched a professional boxing career, winning dozens of championships and going undefeated with 50 wins – 27 by knockout and 23 by decision. Floyd has competed with some of the best in the business, including Manny Pacquiao, Robert Guerrero, Victor Ortiz and Shane Mosley. He also fought against UFC’s Conor McGregor in a boxing match in August 2017.
Because of his dynamic personality and immense skillset, Floyd has branched off into other entertainment venues. In 2008, Floyd partnered with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and competed against The Big Show at WrestleMania XXIV. He also competed on Dancing with the Stars, finishing ninth place with Karina Smirnoff.
Floyd has invested in his own boxing gym called Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately for Floyd, he is no stranger to the court system. In 2002, he was charged with two counts of domestic violence, and received a suspended six-month prison sentence; in 2004, he was charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery; in 2011, he was charged with domestic battery. Floyd was also sued for $20 million for defamation, a case that is still ongoing.
Floyd made a cameo in the 2014 motion picture, “Think Like a Man Too.”
We estimate that Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s net worth is $1 billion (2017).
So how much is $1 billion really?
$1 billion can buy you a dozen mansions anywhere in the United States. $1 billion can also establish a state-of-the-art boxing facility.
