Name: James Howard Woods
Born: April 18, 1947
James Woods was born in Vernal, Utah on April 18, 1947. He is the son of Martha A. Smith, a pre-school operator, and Gail Peyton Woods, an army intelligence officer. He has one sibling: Michael Jeffrey.
James attended Pilgrim High School in Warwick, Rhode Island. Following his secondary studies, James enrolled at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), earning a political science degree.
He has been married twice before to Sarah Owen and Kathryn Greko Morrison. He was also engaged to Missy Crider. Over his extensive career, James has been involved with many women, including Dana Delaney, Sean Young, Heather Graham, Nicollette Sheridan and Lauren Holly.
James had intended to become an eye surgeon, but he contracted the acting bug when he was active in MIT’s student theater group called Dramashop. He was also encouraged to become an actor by Tim Affleck, the father of Ben and Casey Affleck.
Prior to his 1970 Broadway debut, James appeared in three-dozen plays. He made the transition to both the big and small screen in 1970, when James made his debut in the television series “All the Way Home” and the film “The Visitors.” Eventually, he would become a household name, receiving two Academy Award nominations for the pictures “Salvador” and “Ghosts of Mississippi.” James would appear in dozens of box office successes and critically acclaimed films and TV shows, including “Once Upon a Time in America,” “Nixon,” “Casino” and “Too Big to Fail.”
His latest project was for the “Justice League Action” TV series. Many say that he hasn’t landed major roles in recent years because of his political views (see below).
James’s recognizable voice was lent to various animation endeavors, including “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Recess: School’s Out” and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.”
Outside of the entertainment business, James is an avid poker player, participating in a wide array of tournaments. He is also quite outspoken about politics, espousing his opinions on Twitter from a conservative standpoint – he endorsed Carly Fiorina and Texas Senator Ted Cruz in the 2016 Republican primaries. Although he has yet to announce his support of President Donald Trump, James has come to his defense on multiple occasions regarding the media’s “pathological” disdain for the president.
We estimate that James Woods’s net worth is $20 million (2017).
So how much is $20 million really?
Since James is an avid Porsche motorist, $20 million can buy you a dozen vintage and new Porsche automobiles. $20 million can also cover the legal fees for a few of his lawsuits against actresses and Twitter users.
