Ivy attended California State University, and was a linebacker for the university’s football team.
Prior to starting a career in auctions and antiques, Calvin was a professional football player, competing for the Arena Football League (AFL). After a couple of years in the sport, Ivy started to get involved in mixed martial arts (MMA), and participated in just one fight, winning in about one minute.
He proceeded to get interested in storage lockers, spending about a decade traveling across the United States, and attending auctions. Ivy would also partake in flea markets and swamp meets. It was in 2009 when Ivy opened Grandma’s Attic, a thrift store in his hometown of Palmdale.
Ivy would rise to fame in 2013 when he was tapped to be a featured cast member of the hit reality television series “Storage Wars.” Known as The King of Palmdale, Ivy continues to appear in the smash hit show, and has morphed into a fan favorite.
Although he is dedicated to his store and the TV series, he still allocates his time to his family. Ivy is an assistant coach with the Vasquez High School football team, and he frequently travels on fishing trips across The Golden State with his children.
We estimate that Ivy Calvin’s net worth is $1.5 million (2017).
So how much is $1.5 million really?
$1.5 million could afford you to take a year or two off of work and travel across the United States to go fishing. $1.5 million could also open up at least two more Grandma’s Attic stores somewhere in the country.
