Name: John Adedayo B. Adegboyega
Born: March 17, 1992
John Boyega was born in London, England on March 17, 1992. He is the son of Samson Adegboyega, a Pentecostal minister, and Abigal Aboderin. He has two siblings: Blessing and Grace.
John attended Oliver Goldsmith Primary School and Westminster City School. After graduation, he enrolled in South Thames College, earning a National Diploma in Performing Arts. He later studied at the University of Greenwich to learn BA Film Studies and Media Writing, but he dropped out. A year later, he signed up for the Identity School of Acting and honed his craft.
Not much is known about his relationship status. He did confirm, however, that his girlfriend had dumped him when she saw billboards featuring John for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Despite his father wanting him to be a minister, John contracted the acting bug at a young age. He was first noticed by an artistic director of Theatre Peckham. When he was provided with financial assistance from a hardship fund, John continued to learn as much as he can about acting. He would land various parts in plays, but he would make cinematic debut in the 2011 hit “Attack the Block.”
John would land various roles until he got his biggest break in 2014 when J.J. Abrams picked him to star as a lead character, alongside Daisy Ridley, in the box office smash hit “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” He would reprise his role in the sequel, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” – he is already getting prepared for the final installment, “Star Wars: Episode IX.”
In between the “Star Wars” films, John has been featured in a handful of films, including “The Circle,” “Detroit,” and “Pacific Rim Uprising.” He also appeared in the television series, “Tinkershrimp & Dutch,” and is filming another television series, “Watership Down.”
In January 2016, John decided to go behind the camera by launching a production company called UpperRoom Entertainment Limited.
We estimate that John Boyega’s net worth is $6 million (2017).
So how much is $6 million really?
$6 million can recreate the Millennium Falcon set in your house. $6 million can also cover a portion of the marketing costs of all of the “Star Wars” films.
