Name: Rachel Meghan Markle
Born: August 4, 1981
Occupation: Actress and philanthropist
Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles, California on August 4, 1981. She is the daughter of Thomas Markle Sr., a lighting director, and Doria Loyce Ragland, a social worker and yoga instructor. She has two siblings: Thomas and Samantha Grant.
Raised in Hollywood, she attended private and Catholic schools, including Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse and Immaculate Heart High School. In 2003, Meghan graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in theater and international studies.
She has been married once before. In September 2011, Meghan married actor and producer Trevor Engelson, but they divorced in August 2013. She also dated Cory Vitiello and Rory McIlroy. Three years later, she entered into a relationship with Prince Harry, and the couple became officially engaged in November 2017.
Meghan would venture into the acting world when she finished college. In between acting gigs, Meghan worked as a freelance calligrapher to help put groceries on the table. She would eventually land many minor acting roles, including in “General Hospital,” “Century City, “CSI: NY,” “Castle,” and “Without a Trace.”
In July 2011, Meghan was tapped to be one of the starring roles in the hit USA Network series “Suits.” After several seasons, Meghan confirmed that she would not be returning to the television show. This helped her garner roles in a handful of motion pictures, like “Remember Me,” “A Lot Like Love,” “Horrible Bosses,” and “Get Him to the Greek.”
With the royal engagement dominating her life, she does not have any projects on the go.
Meghan eventually branched out into other industries. In 2014, Meghan founded the lifestyle website, The Tig, and was its editor-in-chief until 2017. Also, in 2016, Markle partnered with Reitmans to release a line of women’s fashion workwear. For several years, Meghan has collaborated with One Young World, an international non-profit organization, to tackle gender equality and modern-day slavery. She later became a global ambassador for World Vision Canada, and has worked with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
We estimate that Meghan Markle’s net worth is $7 million (2018).
So how much is $7 million really?
$7 million will likely be just a quarter of how much the royal wedding will cost. $7 million can also purchase a home in the country belonging to the Royal Family.
