Name: Jonathan William Coachman
Born: August 12, 1975
Occupation: Television host and media personality
Jonathan Coachman was born in McPherson, Kansas on August 12, 1975.
Jonathan attended McPherson High School, and when he graduated he studied at McPherson College. He had a wide array of interests: theater, journalism, commentary, and sports (he played basketball).
Jonathan is married to Amy, a pharmaceutical representative, and the couple have two children: JJ and Kayana.
His career really started when he was still in college, performing color commentary and play-by-play announcing for local basketball and football radio broadcasts. After radio, he acted as a sports reporter and anchor in Wichita for the local television network. Jonathan later joined KMBC-TV and was a correspondent for “Larry King Live.” Jonathan would eventually go on to star in instructional videos for middle school and high school classrooms – the topics would include airplanes to flight navigation.
In 1999, Jonathan was hired by World Wrestling Entertainment, where he served as a backstage interviewer and commentator until 2006. At first, he was mocked by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, but then he turned heel and embraced a cocky persona. His roles at the company evolved: he became an assistant to Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff, he became an interim GM, a columnist in the company’s magazine, and online host.
In 2008, Jonathan left the company to start a new career with ESPN. Following a successful stint with the sports network, he announced that his contract expired in 2017. In January 2018, Jonathan rejoined WWE and returned to his announcing duties on Raw, alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
