Name: Ksenia Anatolyevna Sobchak
Born: November 5, 1981
Occupation: Politician and media personality
Ksenia Sobchak was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union on November 5, 1981. She is the daughter of Anatoly Sobchak, the former mayor of Saint Petersburg, and Lyudmila Narusova, a politician. She has one sibling, Mariya.
When she was a child, she studied ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre and the Hermitage Museum art school. When she was 17, she transferred to Herzen University and enrolled in the Department of International Relations at the Saint Petersburg State University. She relocated to Moscow three years later and studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and then enrolled in a master’s program at the school’s politics department.
Ksenia has been married to actor Maksim Vitorgan since February 2013. The couple has one son, Platon.
She has had a successful entertainment career, appearing in motion pictures, hosting reality television shows, and recording music with some of the industry’s biggest stars. National media outlets have described her as one of the country’s most desirable women, and some have labeled her as the “it girl.” This prompted Playboy to hire her to pose for the magazine.
In addition to entertainment, Ksenia has been a political journalist and commentator for about a decade.
Since her father was President Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev’s law professor, Ksenia has had a close relationship with Putin and other government officials. She has voted for Putin in the past, and she has even worked on a couple of his campaigns, but since 2012 she has adamantly opposed his administration.
In October 2017, Ksenia announced that she was running for president of Russia. She personally informed the president of her intentions in January 2018, and he gave her his support.
Some of the political positions she has endorsed: supporting free market capitalism, the privatization of state-run corporations, greater female representation in government, the removal of the body of Vladimir Lenin from the Red Square, and the restoration of relations with Ukraine.
We estimate that Ksenia Sobchak’s net worth is $1.4 million (2018).
So how much is $1.4 million really?
$1.4 million can pay for a presidential campaign. $1.4 million can also allow a newspaper to hire Ksenia Sobchak as a columnist.
