Name: Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis
Born: April 29, 1957
Daniel Day-Lewis was born in Kensington, London on April 29, 1957. He is the son of Cecil Day-Lewis, a poet, and Jill Balcon, an actress. He has three siblings: Sean, Nicholas, and Tamasin.
He attended the Sevenoaks School, an independent educational center. With a choice between acting and cabinet-making, Daniel enrolled at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Daniel has been in relationships with actresses Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Adjani, Julia Roberts, and Winona Ryder. He has been married to Rebecca Miller, a thespian and writer, since November 1996. Daniel has three children: Ronan Cal, Cashel Blake, and Gabriel-Kane. The family presently lives in London – he also owns homes in the United States and Ireland.
Excelling at the National Youth Theatre, he made his motion picture debut in the 1971 film “Sunday Bloody Sunday.” Splitting his time between the stage and television, Daniel still appeared in movies, including noticeable parts in “Gandhi,” “The Bounty,” and “A Room with a View.” He would land a career-defining role in the film “My Left Foot,” which won him an Academy Award for Best Actor.
This would be followed by other critically-acclaimed projects like “The Last of the Mohicans,” “The Age of Innocence,” “In the Name of the Father,” and “The Boxer.” Following a five-year absence from Hollywood, Daniel returned with a vengeance, starring in the smash hit “Gangs of New York,” which garnered him another Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
In 2007, Daniel earned the part of a lifetime: the character of Daniel Plainview in one of the greatest films of all time “There Will Be Blood,” which earned him another Oscar nod. Five years later, Daniel portrayed Abraham Lincoln in the Oscar-winning film “Lincoln.” After announcing that he was retiring from acting, Daniel starred in the sleeper hit “Phantom Thread.”
For his successful and celebrated thespian work, Daniel was knighted by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, at Buckingham Palace.
Outside of show business, Daniel is a talented and successful woodworker and cobbler.
We estimate that Daniel Day Lewis’s net worth is $50 million (2018).
So how much is $50 million really?
Since Daniel describes himself as a “lifelong study of evasion,” he can take his $50 million and his family and hide in the middle of Italy, where he worked as a cobbler before “Gangs of New York.” $50 million can also produce a motion picture that stars Daniel Day-Lewis.
