She has three siblings: Ben, Stephanie, and Geraldine. She was raised in a Jewish household, but her parents kept it a secret from the neighborhood and practiced Mormonism.
She has been married three times: Bill Pentland (1974 to 1990), Tom Arnold (1990 to 1994), and Ben Thomas (1995 to 2002). Roseanne has five children: Brandi Brown, Jessica, Buck, Jake, and Jennifer. She currently lives in her hometown with her partner Johnny Argent.
Roseanne started her stand-up comedy career in Colorado, working at various nightclubs and joints in Denver and elsewhere around the state. In 1985, she had an audition at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles and later appeared on “The Tonight Show.” A year later, Roseanne had a spot on “Late Night with David Letterman,” which prompted HBO to give Roseanne her own special “The Roseanne Barr Show,” generating multiple awards and accolades.
Despite turning down the role of Peg Bundy in the smash hit television series “Married…with Children,” she earned her own series on ABC called “Roseanne.” It became one of the most popular TV series in history, regularly landing in the Top 20 of the Nielsen ratings, competing frequently with “The Cosby Show.”
Roseanne has remained in the spotlight for a long time, even when her show came to an end in 1997. She has written three books, appeared in several motion pictures and TV shows, and even hosted her own talk show. Roseanne has also been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and a Golden Raspberry Award.
In 2012, Roseanne turned to the world of politics, seeking the presidential nomination for the Green Party. She lost to Jill Stein, but she later decided to run on the Peace and Freedom party ticket with Cindy Sheehan. She only captured 67,000 votes, or 0.05 percent of the popular vote. Roseanne gained a lot of heat and criticism for supporting President Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
ABC relaunched “Roseanne” and the series returned to television screens in March 2018, garnering 18 million viewers. The show has already been renewed for another season.
We estimate that Roseanne Barr’s net worth is $80 million (2018).
So how much is $80 million really?
$80 million can cover about 10 percent of the typical U.S. presidential campaign. $80 million can also produce several mainstream television sitcoms.
