Name: Samantha Jamie Bee
Born: October 25, 1969
Occupation: Actress and media personality
Samantha Bee was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 25, 1969. She is the daughter of Ronald and Debra Bee. Because her parents split up, she was primarily raised by her grandmother.
Samantha attended Humberside Collegiate Institute and York Memorial Collegiate Institute. Following her high school graduation, Samantha studied humanities at McGill University, later transferring to the University of Ottawa. After signing up for an acting class, she eventually enrolled in the George Brown Theatre School.
In 1996, she met actor Jason Jones, marrying the thespian five years later. The couple has three children: Piper, Fletcher, and Ripley. The family currently lives in Manhattan.
While working as a waitress to help put food on the table, Samantha regularly auditioned for acting roles across the city. She got one of her biggest breaks at 26 when she performed in the stage production of “Sailor Moon.” Samantha then co-founded The Atomic Fireballs, an all-female sketch comedy troupe in Toronto.
In 2003, Samantha was tapped as a correspondent for the smash hit Comedy Central television series “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” In addition to her time on the hit program, Samantha branched out in a wide variety of projects: she starred in a feature film titled “Ham & Cheese,” garnered minor acting roles in TV shows and movies, including Woody Allen’s “Whatever Works,” and authored a book in 2010 titled “I Know I Am, But What Are You?”
By 2015, TBS tapped Samantha for her own comedy news show called “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.” Her deal with TBS runs through 2022. She is also an executive producer of the network’s “The Detour.”
Despite the success of her show, Samantha has gotten into her fair share of controversies. In March 2017, Samantha mocked a brain cancer patient at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) by joking that he had “Nazi hair.” Samantha called former Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted and harassed countless women, a “superhero.” In May 2018, Samantha called President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, a “feckless c—t,” and implied that she was having an incestuous relationship with her father.
We estimate that Samantha Bee’s net worth is $7 million (2018).
So how much is $7 million really?
$7 million can pay for the university tuition of dozens of children to attend McGill, University of Ottawa, or George Brown. $7 million can also purchase a home in Manhattan.
