Name: Katharine Hope McPhee
Born: March 25, 1984
Occupation: Musician and actress
Katharine McPhee was born in Los Angeles, California on March 25, 1984. She is the daughter of Peisha Murch, a vocal coach, and Daniel McPhee, a television producer. She has one sibling, Adriana.
Katharine attended Notre Dame High School. When she finished in 2002, Katharine enrolled in the Boston Conservatory, studying musical theatre. She quit after three semesters to concentrate on acting.
She was previously married to Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016 – it ended after it was discovered she cheated on Nick with filmmaker Michael Morris. Katharine became engaged to David Foster, an iconic record producer, in June 2018. She also dated actor Elyes Gabel for about two years.
One of Katharine’s first jobs in the entertainment industry was a part in an MTV series titled “You Are Here.” The pilot was never aired and the network never picked up the series. In 2005, she applied for the long-running reality television series “American Idol.” In the end, she was runner-up.
Because she was popular on the series, and worked with the likes of Foster and Andrea Bocelli, she would release several albums and No. 1 hit singles after her run. She would then make her feature film debut in the motion picture “The House Bunny.” She would appear in a few other movies, including “You May Not Kiss the Bride,” “Shark Night 3D,” and “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding.”
Katharine transitioned to the world of television, landing the lead roles in “Smash” and “Scorpion.” She also appeared in “Ugly Betty,” “CSI: NY,” “Community,” and “Family Guy” – Katharine has two more projects in the making: “Louisiana Caviar” and “Intensive Care.” She has continued to hone her acting chops by making her Broadway debut in “Waitress.”
Her body of work has been recognized by various awards shows, including the Teen Choice Awards, Young Hollywood Awards, and Women’s Image Network Awards.
Katharine dominated entertainment news headlines in June 2018 when she slammed critics for her engagement to the 68-year-old David Foster. She tweeted:
“Y’all should be worrying more about registering to vote and midterm election than who’s marrying me. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.”
We estimate that Katharine McPhee’s net worth is $8 million (2018).
So how much is $8 million really?
Since she enjoys yachting in Italy, $8 million can purchase a yacht. $8 million can also pay for the wedding between David Foster and Katharine McPhee.
