Occupation: Actress, musician, and media personality
Tamar Braxton was born in Severn, Maryland on March 17, 1977. She is the daughter of Evelyn and Michael Braxton, a pastor. She has five siblings: Toni, Traci, Trina, Towanda, and Michael Conrad.
Tamar has been married twice: Darrell Allamby (2001 to 2003) and Vincent Herbert (2008 to 2017). She has also been in relationships Tricky Steward and Chuck Smith. She currently lives in Calablasas, California.
Tamar launched her singing career when she was just a toddler as all she did in her childhood was sing. She eventually joined the church choir. By the late-1980s, Tamar and her sisters formed The Braxtons, signing their first deal with Arista Records in 1989. After more than a decade, the singing sensations split up and decided to pursue solo careers.
After initial success in her solo career, Tamar started floundering by the early-2000s. She eventually got into label troubles with Casablanca Records after the company changed its business model. Following a brief hiatus from music, Tamar returned to the industry in 2010 and found a lot of success, particularly with the album “Love and War,” which had singles that climbed up the charts of the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2015, the Braxton sisters reformed their group and released a Christmas album.
It was in 2014 that Tamar started to branch off into different areas. She competed on the 21st season of “Dancing with the Stars,” starred as host of “The Real” – she was fired from the show in 2017 – and made her motion picture debut in “Bluebird of Happiness.” She also made her stage debut in the play “Redemption of a Dogg.” Her latest entertainment endeavor is a new reality television series called “Uncensored.”
Tamar launched her clothing and shoe fashion line in November 2014 called the Tamar Collection.
She has been nominated for Grammy Awards, Daytime Emmy Awards, BET Awards, and Soul Train Music Awards.
We estimate that Tamar Braxton’s net worth is $6 million (2018).
So how much is $6 million really?
$6 million can purchase tickets to all of Tamar Braxton and The Braxtons’ world tours. $6 million can also cover half the value of Tamar Braxton’s home in Calablasas, California.
