Kyrsten Sinema was born on July 12, 1976 in Tuscon, Arizona. She is the daughter of Dan Sinema, an attorney, and Marilyn Sinema. She has two siblings.

She attended Walton High School and studied at Brigham Young University, earning a Bachelor of Arts. She then enrolled in Arizona State University, receiving a Master of Social Work, a J.D., and a Ph.D. in Justice Studies.

She was previously married to Blake Dain, a university classmate, but they divorced. She has come out as bisexual.

Before dipping her toe in politics, Kyrsten was a social worker from 1995 to 2002 for the Washington Elementary School District. Later, she served as an adjunct Business Law Professor at the Arizona Summit Law School, which helped her transition to becoming a criminal defense lawyer.

It was in 2002 when Kyrsten ran for the Arizona House of Representatives, but she lost with just 8% of the vote. She tried again two years later and won by a single percentage point. Kyrsten was re-elected three times, before running for the State legislature and defeating her Republican challenger by 30 points.

In 2012, Kyrsten ran for the U.S. House of Representatives, winning by four percent. She was re-elected two more times. With Senator Jeff Flake vacating his seat, Kyrsten announced that she was running for the U.S. Senate. It was an interesting campaign because previous speeches highlighted her contempt for The Copper State, calling it a “meth lab” for democracy and describing residents as “crazy.” Secret footage also showed campaign officials explaining that Kyrsten is pretending to be a moderate. Many analysts and voters agreed that she had very little legislative accomplishments and refrained from delving into controversial subjects, including President Donald Trump.

After a tight race, Kyrsten was declared the winner in the 2018 race, defeating her Republican opponent, Martha McSally.

Some of her political positions: she supports abortion, advocated LGBT rights, gun control, universal healthcare, and government stimulus programs.

We estimate that Kyrsten Sinema’s net worth is -$32,000 (2018).

So how much is -$32,000 really?

-$32,000 is what the United States government owes in a single second. -$32,000 is also how much debt the average taxpayer is on the hook for.
