Rose McIver was born on October 10, 1988 in Auckland, New Zealand. She is the daughter of Ann Coney, an artist, and John George Whitfield, a photographer. She has one sibling, Paul, a musician.
Rose attended Avondale College and then enrolled in the University of Auckland, majoring in psychology and linguistics, but she dropped out shortly after.
She has been in a relationship with Benjamin Hoeksema, an architect, since 2008.
Rose got her first started in the entertainment industry when she was just two years of age, appearing in commercials. She made her feature film debut in the movie “The Piano.” Since then, she has starred in a lot of New Zealand-based television series, including “Maddigan’s Quest” and “Power Rangers: RPM.” Rose also became known to American audiences in her appearances in “Power Rangers LRPM.”
Despite landing plenty of acting gigs, Rose worked part-time as a babysitter and banana importer for Fair Trade.
In recent years, Rose has transitioned full-time to American ventures, including MTV’s “Cassandra French’s Finishing School for Boys,” Showtime’s “Masters of Sex,” CW’s “iZombie,” and Lifetime’s “Petals on the Wind.”

Rose has also found success on the stage in the play “That Face,” “Blood Brothers,” and “Arcadia.”
She has been nominated for Teen Choice Awards and local awards, including TV Guide NZ Television Award and Visa Entertainment Screen Awards.
